                    Anti-Bullying News from North Aurelius Elementary School

                    No to Bullying Campaign
                    North Aurelius Elementary School has adopted a "No to Bullying" campaign this year.  For this initiative, signs have been placed outside the school by the road, near the main entrances, and in the hallways.
                    Mr. Prelesnik's 1st Day Message
                    Mr. Prelesnik spoke to each class on the first day of school about not bullying others and being kind to fellow students.  Students were given a pencil with an anti-bullying theme.  In addition to Mr. Prelesnik's visits, students were reminded of the building's Positive Behavior Initiative that expects students to be safe, respectful, and responsible.  All staff members wore special royal blue shirts that emphasized these expectations on the first day.
                    No Bullying Assembly
                    On September 21, Alaiedon held a school-wide assembly related to character building and not bullying others.  Staff will continue to emphasize "No Bullying" throughout the school year and in our weekly classroom positive behavior support lessons.
                    Kevin Honeycutt Presentation
                    Kevin Honeycutt presented a session to all North Aurelius students and faculty members on October 31st to address the issue of bullying.  He focused on the story of his dog, Starbuck, to get his anti-bullying message across to all age groups.
                    Michigan Attorney General's Office Visits North Aurelius
                    On November 8, a cyber bullying assembly was held to address internet safety, cyber bullying and how to report cyber bullying.  The assembly was sponsored by the Michigan Attorney General's Office.
