Positive Behavior Emphasized with Bulldog Breakfasts and GRRR Slips at MMS
During the fall of 2012, 546 middle school students participated in the first Bulldog Breakfast to celebrate positive behaviors. The Bulldog Breakfast had an MSU/UM tailgate theme as it occurred on the Friday before the big football game. The next Bulldog Breakfast will be held in December. Students eligible for the Bulldog Breakfast must display positive behavior at all times including, but not limited to, no tardies, no office referrals, and no lunchtime discipline.
In addition to the Bulldog Breakfasts, MMS has implemented the use of GRRR Slips. GRRR, which stands for Great Students are...Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to Learn, has become the mantra for student behavior at MMS. Students can receive GRRR Slips from any adult in the building if they display this type of behavior. Each Friday two GRRR slips per grade level are selected, and those students receive an incentive or prize in recognition of their positive behavior.
